Trying to come up with another poem with alliteration for today’s assignment on Writing 201: Poetry. Drawing a blank…on EVERYTHING.
The house is quiet
the music is soft
my tea is hot
my pen aloft.
Now where are the words
I thought were mine?
I’ve dreamt of writing
for such a long time.
But here I sit
alone and mute
no thoughts or feelings
to impute.
I guess I will
go back to bed
till something fills
my empty head…

Beautifully penned though you feel your head is/ was blank

Thanks. I guess I get frustrated because I’d like to be able to write with more intent. I see so many wonderful examples of that kind of writing on Word Press.

OK..you got me. I had to Google what alliteration meant. 🙂 I guess I’m not to old to learn a new word. Love the Poem!

I wouldn’t worry about it, GF. Of the two of us YOU’RE the one writing her guts out! And I don’t think alliteration is something that will come in handy with you’re writing! (Though I suppose one of those love scene might be able to work in a little alliteration! wink) 🙂

Very good. Attention to not feeling creative is a creative act. It come from a very real place that I get to often.

nothing wrong with this poem ….and it’s been my experience, it’s not the lack of words that’s problematic, it’s an overabundance that can get in the way…poem fast, and concern yourself later, if work will last will last…
