Another Foggy Night in London TownAnother Foggy Night in London Town

Beneath the streetlights overhead
its bulk appears,
a thing of dread;
ambling down the foggy lane
lights blinking through
the slanting rain;
axles creak and engine misses
its sputtering tailpipe and
metal frame twitches;
windows cloud
the cold seeps in
I’ll never ride this
damn bus again.






with sobbing heart
she soaked up the words
that poured forth from her pen
the farewell an orange
within her throat
her eyes bleeding tears again
