…until I have to leave for an appointment. But I’ve been sitting here looking at music videos trying to decide what to post for my Saturday Sing-a-long. I could sit here all day! But since I don’t know if I’ll be around later to post, I thought what the heck, I’ll post one of my favorite music videos. One of those songs I just can’t hear enough.
Anyone else like these guys? 😀
I love this song! I especially love it when RIchard sings with that deep voice of his. Haven’t thought of the Oaks in a long while. Thanks for the reminder. Hope you had a wonderful birthday, my friend!

Laure! Hello my dear! It’s so good to see you. I have your email from February 1st still sitting in my inbox. I’ve been waiting for a time I can sit quietly and answer it to catch up. This is going to be a catch-up weekend for me. I hope all is well with you and your dad. Talk to you before the weekend’s out. Big hugs!!! {{{Laure}}}

Taking a moment to read a few followers while in DC… yes I have met the original Oak Ridge Boys and did see them when they were not know in a little country stage with tree stump seats call Terrytown. Tennessee. My favorite was Harold, the original group were sweet kids about my age. At the same sitting I met Johnny Cash and June Carter, I took care of June’s two oldest daughters the age of my two while she and Johnny sang. You brought back memories with your post, thank you a great filter to slow down my work day. And, I believe people are wishing you happy birthday, hope it was great. Elizabeth

Hasn’t that guy got a great voice? I’ve never heard of that band, probably because I’m in England.

I love being sixty. All passion spent… I can focus on the things that really matter, when people let me.

I have plenty of frustrated passion of ALL kinds! Was that supposed to go away when you turn 64, or do I have another year to enjoy it yet till I’m a senior citizen?

I was speaking simply of the passion of the flesh.
I’m afraid you will probably never lose the other passions; you have far too interesting, intelligent and compassionate a mind to ever be entirely content with life.
The best you can hope for is to become satisfied with your dis-saisfaction!

Become satisfied with my dis-satisfaction… Yes. That makes sense. It’s a little like Rilke’s idea of learning to live in the question. Good thought, mon ami!

I’m not familiar with the concept of living in the question…

Rainer Maria Rilke was a marvelous poet from Prague who said, “Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves…” He died in 1926. Aside from the fact that his mother named him Maria (rolls eyes) he was a good guy. I might have to pick on of HIS poems to do week after next. I already have one picked out for next week. But he’s a good choice. Thanks for reminding me of him!

Thanks for telling me about him. I’ll google his poetry right now. It may distract me from all the annoying texts I’m getting from one of the men Laura got herself involved with.

Why on earth is her boyfriend texting YOU? Can you not tell him to peddle off into the sunset? (Oh! I like that! I made that up all by myself, yes I did! 😀 )

I like that too.
He’s not a boyfriend, and it’s kind of a long story – they always are. The short version is that I have been warned that he chucked a petrol bomb through the door of the last person who crossed him, so I tread carefully for the moment, although I have moved into sheltered accommodation and I’m three floors from the ground. The security’s not as good as it should be and I’m surrounded by vulnerable people. I wouldn’t want them to be frightened.

I’ve reached the point where I just shrug my shoulders and ignore stuff. I think it will be OK anyway. He knows the police are watching him, and at the moment he realises that it’s best to keep in with me – he wants me to getthe police off his back, and I probably could if I wanted to.
It may not seem like it, but I am just an ordinary person, who happens to be constantly surrounded by the dramas of others.

Oh, I think it’s always ordinary people that get stuck in the middle of drama. The other EXTRAordinary ones have watch dogs to clear the path ahead of them. Don’t you think? 🙂

You’re probably right. I love how you take the trouble to think about things.

My problem is… I saw the word oak, and thought you were talking about Black Oak Arkansas LOL Sometimes I can’t tell the difference between names of groups that have the same word in it. *shakes my head*
That guy has a nice deep voice. Don’t know these guys tho.

Fim, I swear you continually amaze me! You came up with all those songs for that challenge but you’ve never heard of the Oakridge Boys? Not a country western fan, eh?
