Again thanks to Ms. Fim over at Quantum Hermit for inviting me to play along with her on this Quote Challenge. I actually had a post nearly finished using the Tolkien quote I promised her, but apparently God had other plans. Just as I went add a last line, my laptop overheated and shut itself down. Despite having auto saved that post several times while I was working on it, when I got the computer up and running again, it simply was not there. The only thing saved was the title.

I was puzzled as to how that could be. And more than a little upset and feeling sorry for myself. I had a full day ahead of me and was already feeling like I was trying to run uphill through mud. So I opened my junk closet and dragged out my paper hats, noise makers, balloons, and everything else I needed for a pity party. Felt a whooper comin’ on.

At any rate, I shut this sucker off and tended to a little project I had going and wanted to get in the mail. (I’m only home long enough to grab some lunch before heading off to buy groceries.) Thing is, as I was standing in line at the Post Office I happened to glance at their display of the current new stamp set that has come out. Imagine my surprise to see Maya Angelou’s picture there with one of my favorite quotes on the stamp.

So here I was standing there all decked out in my party finery when God whispers in my ear and says, “Ok. So the day sucks. But you know what, girly? You still got a song in your heart that no one but you can sing. So get shed of this crap and get on with the day!” And I did. I pulled off my hat and clown nose and threw them and my noise maker into the waste bin. The clerk called “Next!” just as I was disposing of my glasses with the shaggy eyebrows, and I got on with my day.

I just finished my lunch and pulled up the blog to write another post and lo and behold there was my bloomin’ post from this morning! I don’t believe in coincidences. I guess God was just tryin’ to remind me that sometimes life is pretty much just what you make of it. Even when you’re running behind!
