Ok Fim! Here’s your last quote for your Quantum Hermit Quote Challenge! And thanks again for inviting me to play along. (And yes, Matt, over at The Book Blogger, THIS is the Tolkien quote! LOL)
This one is taken from The Silmarillion, the story of the creation of the world Arda wherein lies Middle Earth, and the history of the First Age. This is the ancient drama to which the characters in The Lord of the Rings look back and in whose events some of them, such as Elrond and Galadriel, took part. The paragraph speaks of the Ainur who were the immortal spirits existing before Creation in J. R. R. Tolkien’s fictional universe. They were the first beings made from the thought of Eru Ilúvatar (God).
“And it is said by the Eldar that in water there lives yet the echo of the Music of the Ainur…and many of the Children of Iluvatar hearken still unsated to the voices of the Sea, and yet know not for what they listen.”
~
I LOVE this quote because it perfectly describes me when I get around the ocean. I could stand on a shore all day and listen, though I know not what I’m listening for. That’s how I figured out I was actually a Teleri Elf! I hear my home calling when I listen to a shell. Instant connection. 😀 And if you would like to know anything more about the history of the Teleri Elves, check here!
And now my deed is done and I will return to my plundering and bar maiding!

It is beautiful, isn’t it. It makes me think of sparkles dancing in the sun on the waves, sea glass, driftwood, and shells. The way the drowsy sun kisses the horizon as its lover the moon chases it across the sky. And the quiet roar and pulse of the waves caressing the shore. My heart tends to match its rhythm, its cadence. I am mesmerized by its just BEING.

Nah. It’s an old one, actually. I’ve had it since 2003. It’s my Elvish avatar.
THAT Calen has quite a story behind her. She may look flirty but WATCH OUT! She’s a Warrior of the Vanyar. The blood of Gondor and Númenor runs through her veins as surely as that of the Teleri Elves. Across her back she bears her bow, Orënyényë (Heart Weeper) and two long knives: Lintaquentë (SwiftSpeaker) and Aicanáro (SharpFlame). They are her brethren!
She is well versed in the art of healing and is gifted with the ability to bond with animals and share their senses. She is bonded with her stallion Elenúr (Star Fire), in the language which goes beyond the spoken word. She is mate to Glorfindel and mother of twins, the eldest a daughter, destined to be a healer; the second a son, whose destiny has not yet shown itself.
Well, you asked! 😀

Little flowery, eh? It’s a bit from Calen’s bio for the round robin story she was a part of with seven other people. We had quite an adventure over nearly 14 months of writing!

no, not “flowery,” it’s poetic, you could make it into a poem, it almost is, as is

Really? I never looked at it that way. Do you write poetry my scaly fish friend? (I was going to call you a flounder but then I realize we’ve never been properly introduced and I’ve no idea what kind of a fish you are!) (Besides a BAD one, I mean… :D)

Flounder…yeah, that’s my middle name, always floundering. Always bad. I like writing poetry, but I write bad poetry.

That’s the kind I write! Bad! I’d say out of all the stuff I’ve written over the years only a handful are actually poetry. The rest are just me whining. Especially about Walt Disney! LOL Care to share a piece with us on here?
