If I had to define a personal creed,
this would have to be it!
There are all kinds of pictures with quotes and sayings floating around the internet these days. Have you ever run across one that you feel could be your own personal creed? Do you even know what your personal creed would be?
A general, non-religious definition of Creed is: Any system or codification of belief or of opinion.
So what have you found on the internet, in books, on TV, etc., that might exemplify your own personal creed? If you haven’t found anything, or you’ve never thought about it, I challenge you to write one and leave it in a comment. I reckon that would be a pretty good way to get to know ya!
As I said to you a few days ago, that line of Tennyson from Ulysses has always spoken to me:
We are not now that strength which in olden times moved earth and sea
That which we are we are
One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by fate yet strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield
There was a lovely adaptation of that in a BBC cento (a collection of lines from poems), which was frankly brilliant (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQqLRw8Ja6s).
Lastly, I loved the line in Doctor Who-“never cruel nor cowardly, never give up, never give in”.

That trailer was pretty cool. Did you KNOW what all the lines were from? The Doctor Who line sounds like something Winston Churchill would have said. Did you know it was him who order the “Keep Calm” posters to be made in 1939 to increase morale? Then I guess they never used them very much during the war years until someone found one in 2000. Now anything and everything can keep you calm!!! 😀 (But for me a glass of white zin works REALLY well!)

Haha. I think the Keep Calm and Carry On posters were designed for if the Nazis managed to invade, when they would try and boost civilian morale (similarly, Sten guns had a very simple method of manufacture so that they could be used as a resistance weapon). I had a look, and I found a WordPress blog with the poems at https://wordkern.wordpress.com/2013/07/11/bbc-2s-cento-theres-always-more-to-see/

I myself have not came across any one thing that I can adopt and live by, but this is really good here. I guess I will have to be on the search to see what I could find.

😀 Yay! I love sending people on quests. I’m surprised you haven’t thought about it. You’re a pretty deep thinker! If you come up with anything, please be sure and share it. {{{JMD}}}

Yes I just checked out a post on Being Martha|http://beingmaarthaa.com/2015/07/09/when-the-going-gets-tough/ I think it kind of goes in key with what your saying. But with so much quotes and wisdom out there its hard to pick one out of the lot. Yet I am determined to do so.

Most excellent words to live by! I can’t think what my creed is at the moment. But when I do, I’ll come and post it. 🙂

I had a feeling you’d like this one! Giggle. You’re as infatuated with the Gray Guy as I am. 😀

As I thought about how I live, there are two thoughts which define who I am.
1. All acts of love and pleasure are my rituals
2. Do what you want, but harm none.

Isn’t that the Wiccan motto? Do no harm… That was our last pastor’s philosophy.

I know Wiccans, among many follow that creed. I’ve always followed a Gaian Path, which is about healing the Earth. When we work to heal the Earth, we in turn, will help heal ourselves. I have also incorporate ideology from Taoist respect for Nature, and First Nation’s Way of living in harmony with the Earth and all brother and sister Beings.

I Think if I live by anything it’s. Laugh. Explanation: find the reason to laugh in all things, even the most dour or dire of things, because if not I’d be swallowed up.

Most excellent philosophy! You’re an angel! “Angels can fly because they take themselves so lightly!” (G.K. Chesterton) 😀

I got in bed and thought it was stupid to just leave a picture on there with no explanation, so I got up, fired this d*mn thing back up, and turned it into a challenge. Are you up for it? Night goofus! ❤
