And so we come to the close of another round of Quote Challenges. A final thanks to my buddy Matt over at The Book Blogger for tossing this my way. I really do enjoy looking back through my binder to see what quotes I still love and which ones I go, Huh? Why did I pick THAT one??? I know that probably means I’ve moved forward in my life and am growing. (Oh! What if it means backwards o_O and I’m regressing???) The one thing I’ve found is that music (and books) are not that way for me. Once a piece of music is mine, it’s always mine.

So since today is my usual Saturday sing-a-long, I will leave you with not ONE but THREE quotes about music.

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.  — Plato (the OLD one, not our groovy Plato!)

Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. — Victor Hugo

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. — Berthold Auerbach.

(Don’t know about you but they all look to me like they could use a good piece of mood music to help them lighten up!)

Conan-the-BarbarianI reckon the last one is my favorite because it’s so true for me. No matter what mood I’m in, I can find a piece of music that will lift me out of myself and give my mind and heart the relief that it needs — to ease stress, to dull pain, to double joy.  Sometimes it can even make me brave! (Just listen to the soundtrack from Conan the Barbarian! That’ll get your adrenalin goin’! I love to write and do housework with that one blaring.)

I apologize, Matt, for not passing this challenge along. I think I covered everyone the first time…)
