Paul Petersen
William Paul Petersen (born September 23, 1945) is an American actor, singer, novelist, and activist.
Petersen first rose to prominence in the 1950s playing Jeff Stone on The Donna Reed Show, and transitioned to a singing career in the 1960s. In the early 1980s, he had a recurring role as a police officer on Matt Houston, and in the late 1990s, he played the author Paul Conway in the film, Mommy’s Day.
In 1990, Petersen established the organization A Minor Consideration to support child stars and other child laborers through legislation, family education, and personal intervention and counseling for those in crisis.Petersen began his show business career at the age of ten as a Mouseketeer on the Mickey Mouse Club. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.)
Paul Petersen from the Donna Reed Show was my FIRST teenage TV star heart throb. (Followed closely by Johnny Crawford of The Rifleman.) Thought I’d died and gone to heaven when I realized he could sing. This clip is from the show, Season 5, Episode 6 where his father Alex (Carl Betz) tries over and over to spend a day with son Jeff, but his plans are always interrupted by emergency calls. Jeff later shows that he still loves his father by singing the song,“My Dad.” See if it brings back memories!

I watched it. He’s still pretty cool, isn’t he! Love him. And he made quite a career for himself in something OTHER than TV. Good for him!

Oh yes, he’s very cool. It’s great to see folks we remember, and how they are now, and where they went after that moment in time when we first saw them. 🙂

That’s brilliant, his voice is very strong and I think it’s complemented by the quiet background music, it sounds almost more pure. Thanks for sharing it!
Best, Matt

I didn’t start putting up posters until the Beatles and Paul Revere and the Raiders came along. I think I still have them all preserved in a box somewhere in the shed. LOL
