I was so touched this past week by Making It Write and Spiritual Dragonfly’s response to the post What Makes You Different. They were so honest and brave. If you haven’t read them, please do. This week’s challenge is a head-scratcher as well. Then we’ll have one fun one before things start getting “playful!”
This week’s challenge is What is holding you back? Now you can interpret that any way you’d like. Is there something you really, really want to do but just can’t quite get up the courage? Somewhere you want to go but haven’t for some reason? You decide how to answer this question.
As usual, remember to include a link to this post on your blog. Or if your response isn’t overly long, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. If you would like to play with us and see the previous prompts, they’re listed in the menu at the top of the blog in The Sandbox Writing Challenge. But please feel free to just jump in wherever we are at the moment! After all the prompts are really for YOU to get to know YOURSELF!

This was so hard for me to actually write. But. I did it and it actually made me feel great to see in writing that I am my own worst enemy: http://atypical60.com/2015/09/21/there-is-only-one-thing-that-holds-me-back/

You know, when I read other people who talk honestly about what you’re feeling it makes me feel not so along, not like a total wingnut! Thank you, Catherine, for being brave enough to put that out there. You do an amazing job of holding your world together int he spot light. I admire that!

Nothing, absolutely nothing is holding me back. I do, within my limits, what I want to do and try to accomplish, what I want to accomplish.
This has not always been like this. There was a time when I felt something was holding me back, something was weighing me down. I wasn’t too confident in myself and always had doubts. Then, one day something happened, that made me realize that life as I knew, it could be over in a blink of an eye. There is just no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow is there?
When I say nothing is holding me back, then I am talking about things I want to do. Thinks I want to try. Of course there are some financial limitations and some roadblocks called work and chores. But nothing else is holding me back. If I want something, then I go for it.

I think your life experience of traveling all over has stood you in good stead. You’ve seen and learned so much. That has to have added to your self-confidence, too.

This is going to be interesting – there are so many things holding me back from so many goals, but when I examine the causes I’ll probably discover that they’re mainly because I don’t kick the ball!
