Fimnora’s Monday Musical Medicine Show was just exactly what I figured it would be this week what with her affinity for the moon! She says:
Well I can chip in TWO this week. The first is one of my favorite classical pieces, the other was my Grandmother’s favorite song!
Clair de Lune is French for “light of the moon”, or “moonlight”. This classical piece is the third movement of Suite bergamasque by Claude Debussy, a piano depiction of a Paul Verlaine poem. (LOVE this video!)
The other moon song that came to mind was one my Grandmother listened to again and again after my Grandfather passed away. She wanted more than anything to believe it was exactly the way it would be for them. It’s Tex Ritter’s Just Beyond the Moon.
