Feelin’ in a sentimental mood tonight. Sat down to do this post and the song White on White, Lace on Satin was running through my head. Now I KNOW that I have a recording of Bobby Vinton singing that song. How many daughters and dads have danced to it at weddings??? But could I find it on YouTube? Heck no! BUT then I got to wondering, hm… WAS it Bobby Vinton or was it Bobby Vee? Then I started thinking about ANOTHER Bobby heart throb from my teen years, Bobby Rydell. Oh my! Which one to choose? Well heck! Why not showcase all three? 😀

Bobby Vinton

Stanley Robert “Bobby” Vinton, Jr. (born April 16, 1935) is an American pop music singer of Polish and Lithuanian ethnic background. In pop music circles, he became known as “The Polish Prince of Poch”, as his music plays tribute to his Polish heritage. Known for his angelic vocals in love songs, his most popular song, “Blue Velvet” (a cover of Tony Bennett’s 1951 song), peaked at No. 1 on the now renamed Billboard Pop Singles Chart. It also served as inspiration for the film of the same name.

Bobby Vee

Bobby Vee (born Robert Thomas Velline; April 30, 1943) is an American pop singer who was a teen idol in the early 1960s. According to Billboard, Vee has had 38 Hot 100 chart hits, 10 of which hit the Top 20. His fourth release, a revival of the Clovers’ doo-wop ballad “Devil or Angel”, brought him into the big time with U.S. buyers. His next single, “Rubber Ball”, was the record that made him an international star.

Bobby Rydell

Bobby Rydell (born Robert Louis Ridarelli, April 26, 1942) is an American professional singer, mainly of rock and roll music. In the early 1960s he was considered a teen idol. Well known tracks include “Wild One” and “Volare”, and he appeared in the movie Bye Bye Birdie in 1963. His second success “We Got Love” was his first million-album seller, gaining gold disc status. 1960’s “Wild One,” backed with “Little Bitty Girl”, was his second million-selling single; his successes continued with “Swingin’ School” backed with “Ding-a-Ling,” and the million-album selling “Volare” later that year.

(Boy! They sure have that 60’s heart throb look down pat, don’t they? ❤ ❤ ❤ )
