If you could read a book containing all that has happened and will ever happen in your life, would you? If you choose to read it, you must read it cover to cover.

Interesting question… It would depend ENTIRELY on who wrote it…

If Linda from Spiritual Dragonfly had written it, it would have a totally positive spin on in. Reading it would give me a perspective 180° from where I’m usually seeing everything. I would read it.

If Fim from Quantum Hermit had written it, it would be imbued with a wisdom far beyond events and feelings from how I normally view them. I would read it.

If Plato from Plato’s Groove had written it, it would be full of challenges for me to look deeper into my perspective, suggesting I have much to learn if I just pay attention. I would read it.

If Michelle from Random_Michelle had written it, I might find that I’m a lot stronger person than I thought I was. I would read it.

Something from Jane at Making it write would definitely take the sour events and turn them into lemons. It would be interspersed with poems of celebration. Yeah, I’d read it.

If Colls from Freeing My Muse got hold of it, it would turn into an outrageous fantasy story that I would find intriguing! Boy would I read THAT version!

Finally, if my friend Kim from Kim Echammaal Coull – The School of the Sacred Arts had written it, I know she’d be helping me try to sort it all out and figure out WHY things happened as they did. (She’s been doing that for about 13 years now!) Yep, I’d read it.

But if it were ME that wrote it? I don’t think I’d touch it with a ten-foot pole. I’ve gone back through my journals and read them from years ago and come away so depressed I wanted to burn them. The fact is, I’m not objective toward my life at all. And I feel like I live under a cloud a lot of the time. Or that I’m like the Charlie Brown character Pig Pen who takes his own misery wherever he goes.

Am I being a little hard on myself? Maybe. But not nearly as hard as I am on myself in my journals sometimes. And for that reason I would NEVER read a book about my life that I, personally, had written. I think it would sound too much like something Charles Dickens wrote! Even with a happy ending, the crap you have to wade through to get there would be totally discouraging — IMHO. And since MY opinion is the one that matters — NO! I sure as heck wouldn’t read my own book! o_O
