Well Fimnora over at Quantum Hermit has unveiled another of her top 42 songs for The Monday Music Medicine Show, incidental TV music! Her instructions for this week’s challenge are:

So my beautiful Monday Music Medicine Show friends, what incidental music from television shows, or movies has captured your attention, and found its way into your hearts? You know I want to hear it! Share it there (your own blog with a ping back), or share it here.

So I will take advantage of the situation and present one from a TV series, and one from a movie. First up is the TV series Outlander with it’s theme song, an old Irish melody, The Skye Boat Song. If it’s Celtic it’s almost a guarantee that I’ll love it.

And from a movie, Somewhere in Time, part of the theme music built on Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, which was actually my favorite piece of classical music long before I saw the movie.
