Last week’s Sandbox Writing Challenge was really an interesting one. It’s kind of eye opening to see what other people think and feel about themselves.
THIS weeks challenge is a little . . . hm . . . secretive? Take the challenge if you dare!
What have you done
that no one knows about?`
OR
Just in case you’re a bit TOO secretive about whatever THAT is, here’s an optional prompt sort of along similar lines…
`
What are you afraid of
exposing about yourself?
As always, remember to include a link to this post on YOUR blog post. Or if your response isn’t overly long, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. If you would like to play with us and see the previous prompts, they’re listed in the menu at the top of the blog in The Sandbox Writing Challenge. But please feel free to just jump in wherever we are at the moment! After all, the prompts are really for YOU to get to know YOURSELF. Will you be brave enough to reveal all this week??? 😮

I thought this one was going to be difficult, but then I realized The poem was already half formed in my brain when I clicked to your post.

Thank you Calen. apart from a quick visit and a long phone call from Paul, and a predictably strange text from Laura I’ve had most of the day to myself, and have been able to write to my heart’s content

Feels like a vacation, doesn’t it? That’s the way I feel when Bran has to work during the day.

It’s lovely – I think I may have mentioned that I’m rather fond of solitude.

Me, too… As long as it’s MY idea. That doesn’t usually include being stuck at home for days on end with no car. I need a car to know I have an escape route if I need one! LOL

A car – what, one of those contraptions with a wheel in each corner that goes brrm brrm? I had one of them once, but I was too busy to take my test, so I let other learners drive it

I have something that fits into both questions. Forgive the length in my reply…this goes back to one of the first SBWC “what would your friends say about you?” As I compiled my list, a thought came into my mind – I wondered how many of them would actually feel that they knew me. Lifelong friends exempt, because they know all of the garbage that was before. It is not necessarily a secret, but I haven’t told anybody that until now and something I have been afraid to voice out loud. Thanks for the opportunity to get it off of my chest.

That’s a good thought. It made me think. Even with my homies (the six women I’ve been the closest to for years), most of them only know bits and pieces of the things I think. Except Amy, my partner in crime. She knows enough to blackmail me! LOL Does that idea that your friends think they KNOW you bring up any particular feelings for you when you think about it?

At first I found it all very depressing! It just made me realize how little I know them too, how I have never really asked them any questions about their lives before they moved here. Our conversations are usually about the day to day things…so I started to ask some questions as they came into my mind. It’s been a good experience, getting to know them better and, in turn, they are getting to know me too. Amazing where the sandbox will take a person, isn’t it? I know I don’t participate publicly often, but I do appreciate you posting them. ☺

I kind of feel like if you can be brave enough to ask questions you have all the fodder you need to get to know someone. I’m glad you posted your comment, Kelly. I know of others who are just doing them on their own. It’s just whatever you’re comfortable with. Glad you’re here. {{{Kelly}}}

I love how S.Thomas skirts the edge of what could be real with just enough surrealism so you know it isn’t. Where he lets his mind fly to is amazing. Wish I could get out of myself enough to do so!

I couldn’t think of a bloomin’ thing for the first one (which is why I added the second option). I’m not adventurous enough (which I’ve already established in a post elsewhere today!) to do anything without others knowing! You are ALWAYS welcome to join. We’ll take you whenever we can get you! 🙂
