I’m always so glad to see Monday roll around as it gives me the chance to play. 😀 I look forward every weekend to Fimnora’s Monday Music Medicine Show. This week Fim says:

So my beautiful Monday Music Medicine Show friends, if it pleases you to play, share with us: A piece of music which takes you on a journey. This will allow those of us listening to see where that music take them. We can have a musical story swap meet.

Fim said the magic word for me, Journey. I love songs that remind me of a journey. No matter who we are, we’re all on a journey in our lives. My favorite journey song is Pilgrim by Enya, and is on my One Seeker’s Journey page. But this one runs a close second. It’s Road to Zion by Petra.

I know there are a lot of folks who read this blog who wouldn’t consider themselves “religious” but are quite “spiritual.” For me this song — though part of the Christian music genre — really speaks to that spiritual journey. Think of your destination as nirvana or paradise or immortality or however you frame it in your mind, and it describes that journey so well. This verse in particular is such an encouragement to me.

Sometimes a shadow dark and cold
Lays like a mist across the road
But be encouraged by the sight
Where there’s a shadow, there’s a light

You’ll have to leave me a comment and let me know if you think this is a good song for YOUR journey.
