Day 37 — Solidarity
I think this is an interesting word to be found on this list. I say that because if you listen to the news the view you get of “Christians'” attitude toward others who are different from them is certainly not one of solidarity. At least from where I’m sitting. Instead it’s divisive and often hateful. (Not that I’m speaking of the current election or anything… rolls eyes) But THIS is what solidarity looks like to me:
No matter who we are, what part of the planet we hail from, what our different beliefs may be, I firmly believe we are all endowed with the spark of the Creator inside us — and you may think of that Creator as something different than me. The point is, we’re all one human family from top to bottom, no matter the color of our hair, our eyes, our skin, or the bottom of our bloomin’ feet!
If I could be granted one wish before my time on this earth is done, I would very much like to see this world at peace so my grandkiddos could grow up without having to worry that we’re going to blow this sucker apart. But that’s going to take a heck of a lot of solidarity!
Imagine all the people living life in peace.
You may say I’m a dreamer,
but I’m not the only one.
I hope someday you’ll join us,
and the world will be as one.
