It’s so good to have Fimnora’s Monday Music Medicine Show back on line after the A to Z Challenge. I’ve missed it! This week Fim says:
So my beautiful Monday Music Medicine Show friends, if it pleases you to play, share with us: a piece of music – from a soundtrack or any other source – which you feel is a most beautiful piece.
I would normally have run right to YouTube and pulled up Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini which was used in the score from Somewhere in Time. But I’ve used it so many times, thought I’d introduce you to another beautiful piece of music by the same composer John Barry.
This piece is the love theme from the movie High Road to China with Tom Selleck and Bess Armstrong. I used to watch this B-grade movie over and over again. I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s interesting that Selleck turned down the roll of Indiana Jones to take THIS movie. But what can I say. Selleck stole my heart in it, the romantic, drunken bum!
