Last week’s challenge was a great one! So many different answers. It always amazes me how we each interpret them so differently. And welcome to LuAnne from Wind Rush and rollingblogger! Thank you so much for joining us.
I think this week’s prompt will be an interesting one, too. One that will have us seriously considering the answer to the question. Which is…
`
`What makes you a survivor?
`
Some of you who watch the TV reality show by the same name may have a jump on us, but my guess is you’ve never considered this before.
As always, remember to include the link to this post on YOUR blog post. Or if your response isn’t overly long, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. And please feel free to interpret the prompt however you wish: memoirs, poems, pictures, etc.
If you would like to see the previous prompts, they’re listed in the menu at the top of the blog in The Sandbox Writing Challenge. But please feel free to just jump in wherever we are at the moment! After all, the prompts are really for YOU to get to know YOURSELF. (Posts from past prompts you wish to tackle will always be added to the current week’s challenge page.)
Now grab a beach towel and umbrella, get settled in a nice sandy spot and let your mind conjure up pictures of Gilligan’s Island and what would make you a worthy strandee to the group! But be aware we’re not really talking about shipwrecks here. I suspect we’re talking about life in general! Unless of course you have a burning desire to get to KNOW Gilligan, the Captain, and MaryAnn! 😀

What you talkin’ ’bout Willis??? (from a TV series 🙂 ) Girl, you KNOW there are NO RIGHT or WRONG answers on this challenge. It’s about being who you are. I don’t know what’s happened, but you may, through it, find another valuable part of you. Drop me a note and let me know what’s going on. In the meantime I’m going to be fearing the worst…)

This time there was a wrong answer, and i came up with it. I’ve let myself down – I’m suppoosed to be unbreakable.

No, Jane. Especially in this challenge. It’s about being vulnerable enough to see ourselves for who we are, be that good or bad or in between. You’re entirely too hard on yourself, girlfriend. ❤

As I do not have a nice sandy spot I do wish you’d make room for me on yours 😉

Oh sweetie, you can come sit on my sand-covered beach towel any time! 😀 I have a feeling you’re a survivor of many things… {{{Jay}}}

The simple answer to this question? I’m a survivor because the trials in my life have not sent me completely bonkers – yet 🙂

The simple answer for me (and I expect partly for you, too) is that I write about it. I don’t keep it ALL locked up inside of me. I’d have been nuts a long time ago were it not for my journals.

I’m glad it’s still working for you – I’m not sure that I can say the same, but I can’t stop writing

What do you think would happen, Jane, if you didn’t write? THAT’S the big question.
