Welcome back to the Sandbox Writing Challenge #43. We sure had some interesting blog posts on last week’s challenge. Now I know the links weren’t working on some parts of Word Press, so if I missed getting your link on the blog and posting to the post itself, please make sure to let me know.
This week’s prompt is pretty interesting, too, though for the life of me I can’t make out what Roberta Allen’s picture in the book is. They’re in black and white in the book, and this one is a TOTAL mystery to me. So I’m off to find something I think works! Brb!
Ok, I found something. Not sure how well it works with her prompt, but whatever! Here we go!
`
What makes you feel whole?
`
How’d I do? Does that fit with the theme? Well, it’s pretty, anyway! Hopefully you get her drift. 😀
As always, remember to include the link to this post on YOUR blog post. Or if your response isn’t overly long, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. And please feel free to interpret the prompt however you wish: memoirs, poems, pictures, etc.
If you would like to see the previous prompts, they’re listed in the menu at the top of the blog in The Sandbox Writing Challenge. But please feel free to just jump in wherever we are at the moment! After all, the prompts are really for YOU to get to know YOURSELF. (Posts from past prompts you wish to tackle will always be added to the current week’s challenge page.)
Alrighty then. I can’t wait to see what you stitch together for this challenge!!!

I really must jump in again. I only managed to do two of the challenges when I started. I remember learning that I define myself as NOT my mother!! Didn’t expect it would still be going at 43 – have a lot of catching up to do!!

Weird thing about that. I used to get so upset thinking I was a lot like my mom, but the older I’ve gotten and the more I’ve realized we’re all only human, the more I’ve realized I got some good stuff from her, too. I guess it’s true what Confucius,”The more a man knows, the more he forgives.” I’m learning that… Course I had to learn that I was human, too, in there somewhere!
That was the hard part!

I think you chose the perfect image to go with this challenge – a stitched up heart. We all have to stitch our hearts up now and again.
It’s a relief to find this post – I was wondering where you’d got to 🙂

Running all over getting blood tests, and consoling my sister and b-i-l. They got his final diagnoses back yesterday. They’ve only given him a few months to live now. Wasn’t a very good day.

I feared it was something like that. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your role is a tough one – that of a stoical shoulder to cry on, whether or not you feel strong. {{{hugs}}}

I appreciate THAT sentiment. I’m having a bit of trouble holding it together. Other things going on. And she has an eye doctor appointment this morning. The retina in her left eye has detached. It happened in her right eye a few years ago and they told her the other one would eventually probably do the same thing. Horrific timing. I’m trying to be thankful that she won’t have to drive their big handicapped van any more. Greg will not be needing to go to the cancer center now. Hospice is coming in to set up today. You know, her first marriage was a disaster, and then she found Prince Charming. We’ve all been so happy for her. They just had their 29th anniversary on Saturday. We gave them a little surprise party and got some pictures. I’m so glad we thought to do that.

It wasn’t the retina this time. It was the viscous fluid around the eye. Likely caused by the strain of lifting Greg. He said it should heal itself very quickly. Thank goodness.

Indoors, huh? Does that mean you’re not a nature baby? 😉
