(You ever have one of THOSE days…)
one more time
`
tonight i’m very tired
i can’t tell myself
one more time
there will be a
retirement in our future
when we’ll get to know
each other again
i can’t tell myself
one more time
my son will find
his niche in life
and be able to stand
on his own two feet
i can’t tell myself
one more time
there’s a miracle
out there somewhere
for my sister’s dying husband
but what’s worse,
i can’t even tell myself
one more time
that excavating my life
the past two years
has been worth it,
has helped me make
the positive changes in my life
i’ve wanted so much to see
maybe tomorrow
i’ll tell myself those things again,
but not tonight
tonight I’m way too tired

Sometimes, I think we just have those days. There doesn’t have to be a cause necessarily. But there are two major happening in your life there Calen that would surely make a saint tired. And children do have to fly (and fall) sometimes. How else will they find their niche? Hope you’ve managed to get some rest x

I was going to offer words of encouragement, but Soul Gifts and Opher summed it up so well, I’ll just say “ditto”!
It gets better, dear Lady Calen.

I know. It’s all just such a roller coaster ride made harder by trying to keep your spouse’s spirits afloat, too… There are days I think, heaven help us, we’re both gonna drown!

Cr*^%p! I just typed a long response and it’s disappeared! Anyway, as I was saying before the comment muncher attack, a good night’s sleep I find is such a great way for a brighter outlook the next day. Sometimes it’s just hard going and that’s when we have to wear those gumboots for wading through the swamps. It will get better – been there and done that many times too. Hang in there, Calen {{{hugs}}}

A good night’s sleep I find is a wonderful panacea for giving a brighter outlook on life. What Opher said is so spot on. Hang in there Calen – it’s all part of our journey. {{{hugs}}}

I know how true that is. I just am finding the older I get the shorter the time between roller coaster rides. Or maybe it’s just that I’m pooped out?

Pooped out doesn’t help – rest up:)

Encapsules the nadir of days when everything seems an insurmountable problem.
Some things we can change things and sometimes we can’t. Some things we have to leave to sort themselves out one way or another. Some people we can’t change. We have to accept them as they are and hope. Some things we have to accept as they are and make the most of them.
Then we wake up the next day and feel good about it all. Things will work out in time. Life is good.

I think I have to spend some time thinking about what’s gone on in my life on those days to cause me to slip into that sinkhole again. There certainly ought to be a way to avoid it, wouldn’t you think?
