Creativity

To be creative means to be in love with life.  (Osho)

Creativity pinned on noticeboard

Today Harula is asking us, “How have you shown life that you love it?” Swiss psychiatrist and founder of the school of analytical psychology Carl Jung would probably have said we show life we love it by PLAYING. He said:
`
`

The CREATION of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct… The CREATIVE mind PLAYS with the OBJECTS IT LOVES.

I find human beings endlessly fascinating. Talking to clerks at stores. Chatting with the guy at the tollbooth on the Parkway. Getting to know the pharmacists at Smith’s on a first name basis (which is also a very smart thing to do, btw!) Striking up a conversation with the lady sitting next to me in the waiting room at the dentist. Or passing the time of day with the Salvation Army bell ringer you find everywhere this time of year.

That’s one of the most CREATIVE ways I show that I LOVE LIFE, for every time I meet someone I don’t know, I CREATE something new, for as Jung puts it:

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.

`
For me, then, getting to know my fellow planet dwellers is one of my most enjoyable ways of being CREATIVE.. 😀

So I urge you, don’t set around this holiday season and wait for something different and exciting to happen in your life. Get CREATIVE! Go out and meet people and start a chemical reaction. You never know when you might start an explosion of happiness.. 😀
