Christmas will soon be here! So for the next two or three weeks we’re going to skip back to the Self Discovery Journal and do some less serious prompts. Some fun little questions just to keep everyone writing.. 😀
The first prompt is right in keeping with the spirit of Christmas!
`
Have you done anything lately to make someone smile?
`
That may seem like a light and fluffy prompt, but think about it seriously. HAVE you gone out of your way to make anyone smile during this holiday season? If you haven’t, what are you waiting for? Your assignment is to go find someone and make them smile then report back here to us!
As always, remember to include the link to this post on YOUR blog post. Or if your response isn’t overly long, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. And please feel free to interpret the prompt however you wish: memoirs, poems, pictures, etc.
Now get out there and get your grin on!

For me it was making my daughter put on my hiking boots to take a trek into the garden to get that branch for the Christmas tree and prune some wildly spreading holly. First I could feel her resistance. Her nails are extremely ornate, she kicked off those kind of pointy shoes that give you bunions and was smelling of flowery vapour. But I knew the smile would come. It came when she got responses to her photos of the tree and garden, which she described as like being in Narnia, on Facebook. The trek put a bit of natural colour in her cheeks too.

What a beautiful description of your daughter and her adventure!! It sounds like something right out of Victorian literature! I loved it!

I left a comment on your blog, but I think I might be stuck in Word Press jail again!
Could you check your spam. The comment didn’t show up.

Handing our Christmas cards to office mates and thanking them for all they do all year….that’s what I did this morning. I will remember your post and be mindful of others around me…

It’s so easy to just get all caught up in our own busy schedules, isn’t it? I’m going to respond to this in a little bit. I made someone smile last night — grin like crazy, actually — after she realized I wasn’t a stalker! LOL
