I can see a lot of folks are running on empty tanks like me… Could be these challenges have run their course, or that The Playful Way to Knowing Yourself by Roberta Allen (which we started with and wrote through the whole book) was just that good! I certainly haven’t been able to match it yet, though Allen has another book called The Playful Way to Serious Writing which was also fun for me to do, BUT! And this is a BIG BUT, her process in that book is to show you a picture and have you write about it. That’s not quite the same thing we’ve been doing. Though I suppose we could approach it from the perception of “does the picture remind you of a time in your life?”
So I figured I’d leave it up to you all. We have three options…
- We can keep on digging around inside with the books I DO have and hope something sparks or we all get enthused again (while I look for something comparable to Allen’s book).
2. We can tackle Allen’s OTHER book and see how it goes.
3. We can say we’ve had a good time playing in the Sandbox, but mom is calling us “`and it’s time to go home for dinner.
`
Please share your thoughts about it in the comment section. But in the meantime, here’s a question to piggyback on last week’s challenge…
`
`
When do you feel most connected to yourself — your highest, truest self?
`
I’ll bet that’s something that very few of us have ever thought about! If not, it should be interesting. How do you feel when you’re in that space?
As always, remember to include the link to this post on YOUR blog post. Or if your response isn’t overly long, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. And remember you can interpret the prompt however you wish: memoirs, poems, pictures, etc.
And btw, it’s only 34 days, 9 hours, 53 minutes, and 20 seconds until Spring!!!

I’ve only ever tackled a few – so have no opinions either way – if the muse is there – I’m game. Difficult question – I’m wondering if I’ve still to meet her highness!! I wonder if with the first book – I remember you did a reflection at the end of it – did that give people a sense of closure on their quest through the challenges?

Yes, I think so. Participation has fallen off, so perhaps that was the only book we were really meant to do. I know a lot of folks got a lot out of it. But that could also be because it was unexplored territory for many.

I think we’re running on empty for other reasons that don’t involve writing!

That’s really true. Life kind of drains you sometimes, doesn’t it… 🙂 I take it you, too, are feeling a bit flat?

I won’t presume to answer since I’m an admirer rather than a participant. I do love your challenges though, and even jotting down my own few thoughts right here.
