Looks like I may have found one that folks are not quite as familiar with. I thought the “calling card” clue would give it away since it was a prominent part of the show’s opening for awhile. Nevertheless, here it is! Its…
Have Gun — Will Travel
`
Richard Boone starred in this classic Western. Paladin was his name, and mercenary gunslinger/fixer was his game! People hired him to solve their problems for them. And although Paladin’s charge was steep, typically $1000 US per job (lot of money back then), he was always willing to provide his services for free (i.e., pro bono) to poor people who needed his help, a real Western Robin Hood, you might say. Like many westerns, the television show was set during an uncertain period after the Civil War.
`
And here’s an interesting little side bit. Of the 225 episodes of the television series, 24 were written by Gene Roddenberry, best remembered for creating the STAR TREK universe that has spawned six TV spins offs over 30 TV seasons. IN FACT, a brand-new series, STAR TREK: DISCOVERY is coming in June 2017 for all you hard-core Star Trek fans!
`
Did you guess it??? 😀

Whew! Glad that’s out of the way… On to I for the April A to Z Challenge!
An architect, returning home after a hard, hard day, parks his car in an old ghost town in order to rest for a while before continuing on. Suddenly, in the middle of the night, something wakes him: a strange object… He spends the rest of the next two seasons trying to convince anyone who’ll listen — especially the government — of what he saw.
The series ran for two seasons, 1967 and 1968, and fans were very unhappy at the way the series ended, basically leaving everything hanging and folks having to use their imaginations. Were YOU???
What do you think? Can you…
(Btw, if you know the answer, please keep it to yourself so as not to give it away. Stick a smiley face on your comment instead. Thank you so much!)

(Just a quick note. If the title of the show is preceded with the word “The”, it will NOT be included in the name.)

Ooops, no I don’t think “Have Gun, Will Travel” would go with my Challenge 😉
Never ever heard of it.
The show for I rings a bell for me. I think I might have watch it when I was a little kid. But no title comes to mind.

You know, I don’t recall seeing him in many other things, but I’m guessing was an in-demand character actor.

I knew Have Gun, Will Travel because I watched it (in syndication, naturally) with my grandparents. I even know the actor Pat Boone had to use the name Pat professionally because his name is also Richard, and Richard Boone was already a well-known actor at the time. Pat was even occasionally billed as Richard “Pat” Boone so people would know the difference, and eventually just dropped his first name entirely professionally. (In case you were wondering, Pat is the father of Debbie Boone, who was a singer in the 70s. A younger daughter, Cherry Boone, suffered from anorexia for years, and even wrote a book about it that I read while I was still in high school, and that was in the mid 80s.)
No idea what this one is though…and the only series I remember called The Immortal was in 2000 starring Lorenzo Lamas and Steve Braun (it only lasted one season). It was about this guy whose wife was killed and daughter kidnapped by demons in the 16th century. He swore to kill all demons because of this, and he and his squire were given immortality so that he could carry out his task. It was a good show, but like a lot of other good ones only lasted one season before it was canceled (there was Tracker starring Adrian Paul in 2002 that also only lasted a season; in 2003 they re-released it on video as “Alien Tracker”). Then of course there was the one from just a couple years ago, starring Ioan Gruffudd as the immortal character (turns out he wasn’t the only immortal, he just thought he was till he met “Adam”) that was actually called “Forever” and also starred Judd Hirsch as his adopted son. Henry and his wife Abigail adopted Abe after World War II, Abe was a Holocaust survivor, his parents died so Henry, who was one of the doctors treating survivors and found Abe, decided to adopt him. Abigail knew Henry was immortal but eventually left him and Abe because she couldn’t take the constant “dying”/coming back any more…at some point Abe started calling his dad Henry, because physically he looked older than his dad so it would have raised too many questions if he had kept calling him Dad, at least in public.
Anyway, no idea on this one… 😛

Well THAT’S a lot of TV history! I haven’t heard about any of those last ones you talked about. I must have been stuck in a rut! Though I’m surprised, given your TV leanings, that you don’t know this one for I! I love Pat Boone. I did know about his daughters. This is going to date me, but I even have a couple of his records. 😀 I loved him in “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” One of my favorite movies. I remember going to see it at the actual movie theater! And Adrian Paul! OML! I was SO head over heels in love with Highlander. I have the replica of the beautiful garnet necklace he gave one of his loves WAY back when, and I have the satin baseball jacket that says, “There can be only one,” on the back. Would have loved to have had his Katana. 😀

Nooooooooooo! I thought for sure The Immortal would be I. And I was finally gonna get another one right! I gotta think, but it’s not like this answer is on the tip or even the middle or heck, even the back end of my tongue. It’s not even caught in my throat. Arrrggghhhh.

The Immortal? That’s a new one on me. Gonna have to look it up! 😀

My family used to watch it together. Mighta been our favorite show, I’ll have to ask at Easter. If memory serves, a guy got some weird blood transfusion and he became immortal. So now, of course, he can do any death-defying thing he wants. Because he’s immortal.

I just looked it up and I am surprised. It’s right up my alley and yet I think I totally missed it! Thanks for telling me about it. Might have to see if it’s on Youtube. 🙂

Maybe you can re-title it The Jimmortal so I can get one of these right! Just for a day, ya know. I’m not asking for you to alter history or anything.

Gee, if you also watched westerns, I’m surprised you didn’t pick Gunsmoke for G. I did figure I Love Lucy would be too much of a no-brainer for I, so I will have to think on this one while I fix dinner. These are my med school- internship years so not much tv was watched.
