A to Z Challenge (2017), Family, Memories & Reflections, TV Shows, Uncategorized, Writing Prompts
Well I’ll be darn! I think I may have found one no one knows! 😀 Roy Thinnes headed up the series with guest appearances by all kinds of stars including Michael Rennie, William Windom, Ed Asner, and Suzanne Phleshette. Though short-lived, it really captured my imagination. It was:
The Invaders
`
I LOVED the opening credits. Positively creepy! (I had have a very vivid imagination!
I’m curious. Did ANYONE figure this one out?

Hm… I wonder if I can stump you again… Here we go with our next installment of the April A to Z Challenge!
`
Another short-lived series (1955-1956) based on a comic strip character and featuring a popular actor (from another series that ran from 1932-1948) whose star was no longer on the rise. The show usually found him involved in a mystery or in helping natives resist certain conniving white men. Some episodes involved teaching a moral lesson to son Skipper.
The series, however, did not move along swimmingly. It was very low budget and pieced together like a patch-work quilt. It was not renewed beyond it’s original episodes.
This may be a head-scratcher, too! What do you think? Can you…
(Btw, if you know the answer, please keep it to yourself so as not to give it away. Stick a smiley face on your comment instead. Thank you so much!)
`
`
(Just a quick note. If the title of the show is preceded with the word “The”, it will NOT be included in the name.)

It is a pretty common theme, isn’t it… That’s probably my second favorite genre in all the series I’ve pulled up.

Nope, don’t think I ever heard of The Invaders, although I’ve heard of the main actor. No idea what this one is, either! So far I think I’ve figured out two of them… 😛

I’ve never heard of the Invaders and I’m guessing I wouldn’t know this next one either. That is quite the twilight zoneish intro. 🙂

Wasn’t it though! I love spooky alien movies. Other kinds of spooky (like The Shining) I avoid like the plague!

What is the number when you have LESS than a 0% chance of getting it? I’m not sure that number exists.
Hey, based on an earlier comment, was Quinn Martin one person? For my whole life, I thought that was two people, last names Quinn and Martin! Oh my, I should stop embarrassing myself with my enormous amount of ignorance here.

You know, I had to look it up! I thought it was one dude. Here’s what I found.
Quinn Martin. Quinn Martin (May 22, 1922 – September 5, 1987) was an American television producer. He had at least one television series running in prime time every year for 21 straight years (from 1959 to 1980), an industry record.

Okay, still hanging in there, but I didn’t know yesterday’s and Hubs wasn’t here to look it up for me. Plus my internet connection was wonky out here in the hinterlands and I couldn’t get to your site last night to comment. . . Needless to say, today’s clues went right over my head as well.
But still enjoying this! I love classic tv! 🙂 I know you’ll keep ’em comin’.

I’m glad you’re enjoying them. This J one is a stretch. Not sure many people will know it — though they will CERTAINLY know the star!!! 😀

No idea what tomorrow’s will be. I don’t remember “The Invaders” either. Sounds like a late-Sixties show on ABC; they loved stuff like this. It was a Quinn Martin Production, though…

I did a double take when I read your comment and wondered if I’d screwed the dates up on the other show. Nope. I only ever saw them in syndication. Usually Saturday morning…

I don’t think I ever watched The Invaders. Don’t even remember hearing the name, but at this point in my life I had other things to worry about – like graduating. Now, when it comes to the mid-50’s my Dad controlled the TV and this is obviously not a western so I will have to give it some deep thought, lol.

Hey Jeanne! Even if people have to look it up they learn something new. That’s part of the fun. I hope all is going well on your end. Have I missed a couple of your posts, or have you just been busy and quiet lately?
