Alrighty then! Been out and about all day today. Time to get this show on the road! Our first contestant is…
One Step Beyond
(Also known as Alcoa Presents One Step Beyond)
I think the draw for me with this series was that it claimed to be actual happenings. I’ve always been fascinated with the supernatural, so I was totally captivated by it. And as I said before, because of the last episode I developed an interest in Krakatoa, the volcano from Indonesia. The explosion (1883) from that sucker is considered to be the loudest sound ever heard in modern history, with reports of it being heard up to 3,000 miles (4,800 km) from its point of origin. The eruption was equivalent to 200 megatons of TNT, about 13,000 times the nuclear yield of the Little Boy bomb (13 to 16 kt) that devastated Hiroshima, Japan, during World War II. Now there’s a new kid on the block there: Anak Krakatau (Child of Krakatoa). Oh geez, don’t get me started… Next thing you know I’ll be going on and on about the 1906 San Francisco earthquake!
`
And our next contestant is…
The Patty Duke Show
The cool thing about Patty Duke was that she played three separate characters in an episode or two. Patty (from Brooklyn), Cathy (from Scotland), and another cousin (blonde this time) Betsy (from Iowa, I think). Here she is on split screens as all three!
`
Well how’d you do? Probably most of you got the second one, I’m guessin’. And now to today’s letter for the April A to Z Challenge!

This series ran from 1989 to 1993 (longer than one or two seasons!). It was one of the first hits of creator/producer Donald P. Bellisario who is still running around from Virginia, to Los Angeles, to New Orleans (and who happened to be the creator of one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE SERIES “JAG!”) This masterpiece showed you just what could happen when you try to fix past mistakes… 😉 The star of the show certainly found it disorienting at times and in the end, he never got to go home. It has been named one of TV Guide’s “Top Cult Shows Ever”.
Now, “Go! Learn things!” (That’s an extra clue!) Can you…
(Btw, if you know the answer, please keep it to yourself so as not to give it away. Stick a smiley face on your comment instead. Thank you so much!)

(Just a quick note. If the title of the show is preceded with the word “The”, it will NOT be included in the name.)

Totally blanked on O but did know P even if I knew the star and thought the name was different – how dumb is that? I think I predicted Q correctly. since there can’t possibly be that many shows that begin with Q and this is one I watched.

I think it must have been a pretty popular show. SB was just coming into his own in his career at that time. 🙂 Now I really like him as Dwayne “King” Pride! 😀

Actually, I just figured out where he went after the end of the last episode…he went to ….well crap, I can’t say till tomorrow, but I saw the end of the first episode of that one and remember a certain glow around him 😉 (If you missed that part, find the first episode and rewatch it, then pay very close attention to the last couple minutes).

Yep, I knew I knew both of yesterday’s (I originally thought O was Outer Limits till I looked it up to double-check and then realised it was One Step Beyond instead), but I knew the Patty Duke Show right away because I used to watch that one (in syndication of course)!
I know today’s too, and didn’t even need the extra clue (but the clincher was the “never got to go home” clue). 😛

Are you kidding? I can count on one hand the number of ones I’ve actually known so far, and I watch a *lot* of TV! 😛 I grew up watching a lot of classic shows, and except for a couple of those, I’ve never heard of most of the ones you’ve come up with! Considering how many other people have said they had no clue either, I’d say you’re doing a pretty good job so far. 😀

I guess that’s why this one was on more than a year or two! I seemed to have a penchant for one-hit-wonders in music and TV shows! LOL
