I wonder how many ways folks found today to watch the eclipse without burning out their eyeballs. Bran and I walked outside and found something very unique and different.

This is the sun filtering through the leaves overhanging our driveway. The images on the left side of the picture are the clearest. It was 11:35, our maximum viewing. Kind of a cool discovery!
Anyone else find anything interesting?
I took some pictures like that too, in Corvallis OR, after totality. Nature’s pinhole camera 🙂

We used to watch with two pieces of paper and the sun shining through a pinhole. Isn’t that the way a camera works somehow?

We drove south, from Pennsylvania to see it in SC. My husband has family there, so we stayed with them. Six of us watched it from their front yard. It was a wonderful time. Totality was incredible!
The shadows were interesting. I remember that from the eclipse in 1979. 🙂

It’s amazing how far people drove to see it, isn’t it? Glad you had a great time!

We traveled about 500 miles to view the eclipse in Nashville with family. (My husband and I both grew up there but live in MI now.) We gathered at my nephew’s house – about 15 friends and family. Just as the eclipse was reaching totality, a huge grey cloud floated by. We jumped into cars and drove north looking for a sunny spot from under the cloud. We finally found it at a Kwik Sac gas station and saw the dark then the corona, but the cloud covered the back side of the eclipse.
It was so interesting seeing the world get dark at 1:30 in the afternoon, the car lights and street lights coming on. And the eclipse itself was stunning. I did enjoy the crescent shadows as the moon took a bite of the sun. It was a great experience to share with family and friends. Well worth the trip.

Isn’t it interesting how it drew so many people to watch it? It didn’t get very dark here, even though we were at 95% or so.

Cool picture! I watched it on CBS.
We had partial in RI – much more exciting to watch on TV!

I kind of wish I would have watched that. Would have been better with an excited narrative, I bet!

I think I lucked out. It was cloudy on and off, but cleared up for all of totality and most of transit.

Overcast here in Oz – but then, it also wasn’t a total eclipse here like you got. Nice photo 🙂

Watched it on my laptop….didn’t get dark, just seemed like a cloud was blocking the sunlight for a bit…but there was a different kinda feeling about it

Clouded over here. We watched the eclipse coverage from Clemson, SC which was great with clear skies.

It didn’t really get that dark here, kind of like early dusk. We’re near Atlanta, and it’s all pretty much over here.

Very nice…here in the Sunshine Capital of the World…we have a sky full of thick clouds…oh well…it did get a little darker and the temperatures were cooler…but it was fun to enjoy the experience with everyone downtown. Love your driveway shots.

Not yet. I put my app in at a few places. I know one is hiring for testers. But the one person I didn’t get along with in my old group got on there. They asked her for contact info for the rest of us and I’m pretty sure she didn’t give them mine. I went ahead and sent an app in them anyway. Went to Dr on Fri and my kidney levels are up. I scraped chapter one of the Taylor story. It just wouldn’t edit the way I wanted, do I got rid of it. On the bright side, we bought lottery tickets!
How are you doing?

Oh! So what are you going to do with Taylor then? (I’m SOSDD.)
