I’ve just been over to Amy Harke-Moore’s blog A Rural Girl Writes: Encouraging Words. Simple Life. Her post today, When Your New Year Didn’t Go As Planned, was exactly what I needed to hear. I really appreciated her “observations from the trenches.” I think I needed someone to give me permission to do exactly what she is suggesting.
This is going to be a year of change for me/us as I continue to struggle with an autoimmune disorder, and I’m one of those people who will be kind and supportive to everyone else but never cut myself any slack. Why is that so hard to do? How does one change their attitude toward themselves and not expect so much from themselves. Well, I guess this year I’m going to find out if I can do that.
So thanks for the uplifting words, Amy. And I encourage any of you, if you’re feeling like this new year got off to a rocky start, to drop by and read Amy’s post. Here are a few of her suggestions.
Give yourself time to process…
Allow for changes to your schedule…
Take care of yourself…
Reach out to others…
Plan a New Year reset…
Please spend a moment reading Amy’s take on these suggestions. You may find them really helpful! I’m pretty sure I will…

I especially like the idea of a reset. I think I’ll suggest that to Paul.
