The Sandbox Writing Challenge 2018 — Exercise 5
`
So the past four challenges from the Sandbox have been kind of fun, warm-up exercises. But now I’d like you to take out your shovel and dig a little deeper, to seriously ponder what it is about you that you feel makes you different from everybody else.
Please no hook noses, or strange combinations of food that you like. You are a unique individual, and we want to know why!
As usual, remember to include a link to this post on your blog. Or if your response isn’t overly long, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. If you would like to play with us and see the previous prompts, they’re listed in the menu at the top of the blog in The Sandbox Writing Challenge.
Shovels at the ready? Start diggin’!

I agree, it seemed that we needed an explanation for what the question was getting at. I know I’m different from some people, as everyone is, but it seems to me that the question as asking what makes me/each of us stand out from the ‘pack.’ We can’t know if what we feel makes us different isn’t something others around the world also do, thus making us not really different.
But this brings me to something I thought of last week when doing this exercise. I wondered if down the line, there might be a point where we are all given the opportunity to pose a question to the group, and this would have been the perfect exercise for a different question, from outside the book/box.

That’s a marvelous idea, Fim! I will have to do a post inviting folks too do that! Remind me! ❤

If I’m not mistaken it’s by Claude Théberge, a Canadian artist who passed away last year or so. I have one of his prints. Love his work.

Gosh Cheryl – I think it is the strange combination of qualities I possess – shyness, reticence, quietness, lassitude, lack of confidence, diffidence and never questioning anything. It makes me stand out in a room of loud people.

I’m sorry, but I’m still bent over laughing here, Opher! 😀
