(Warning: This is a seriously dumb post, but I’m really curious about something…)

Ok! So! By show of hands, how many of you actually had a plan in mind to write your heart out and become a world famous author — when the kids were all in school? When you didn’t NEED that second job? When you retired? When you __________ (plug in whatever other life event you want)…

Alrighty then! Now that I know which ones of you are/were the aspiring novelists, here’s a question for you… As you looked down the road to that best seller, what was the name of your book??? ๐Ÿ˜€

My plan for writing was to have a go at it when both the kids were in school. I was a stay-at-home mom till then, but writing seemed always to take a back seat to everything else. After a while band classes and concerts, sports training and games, little league, and two jobs took up all my time and I got to where I struggled to keep up with it all. I put off writing, but I DID have a title in mind — I Can’t Keep All the Beach Balls Under Water Any More! That’s what my life felt like, trying to hold a dozen over-inflated beach balls all under water at the same time.

Sometimes I wish I could go back to that title and relive those moments of busy-ness. They were such a rich deposit of writing fodder. But I’ve moved on. Well, sort of. I’ve learned that the more things change, the more they stay the same. So at some point the name of my BOOK changed, also, to Moving Forward, Standing Still.

And what about you guys? How many of you have put some thought into what you’d title your masterpiece???

We’ll see what happens during camp NaNoWriMo in April.
Maybe I WILL finish Sea Jade! You never know!
