So how fun was last week’s prompt, eh? I’m still struggling to know what to write about. His nibs says I’m an open book. Maybe he’s right as I sure can’t think of anything I’ve kept secret — at least not from him. Or does that count in the equation. I mean I tell him everything! He’s my best friend, even when I’m torqued at him!
Anyhoo… Here we go with this week’s prompt.

`
What door have you closed
in your life, and why?
Will you ever open it again?
`
`
As always, remember to include the link to this post on YOUR blog post. Or if your response isn’t overly long, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. If you would like to play with us and see the previous prompts, they’re listed in the menu at the top of the blog in The Sandbox Writing Challenge. But please feel free to just jump in wherever we are at the moment! After all, the prompts are really for YOU to get to know YOURSELF.
Ok. Time to walk through your life and see what doors you have deliberately closed. If there is more than one, feel free to share about each of them. Opportunity is knocking, so here’s your chance to tell all! Have fun!

This one’s easy. I’ve closed the door to romance, because – aside from once, many years ago – I always choose lemons. Will I ever open it again? I doubt it. My eldest daughter warned me that the next time I take an interest in a man, she’ll interview him, and ground me if he’s not suitable 🙂 Personally, I reckon I’m pretty unsuitable too.

Oh girl! You SO underestimate yourself! You’ve just spent so much time trying to save your kids that you forgot to save yourself!!! (But I think it’s great she wants to interview him!!! LOL)

Remember I have four children. I spent so many years focusing on the two younger ones that I had little energy left for my older girls and my grandchildren. They’ve stayed loyal to me despite that, and supported me as much as they were able. Now I’m doing my best to make it up to them as much as is possible.

We go through that with Bran and Stef, too. Sometimes it feels like a competition. I don’t like that. I was equally bitchy and ornery with both of them! 😉 But you gotta do what you gotta do. And they WILL test you!!!

I closed a door twice in my life: once on my father, which was hard but not hard, and once on a marriage, which was much harder for me…but both good decisions and no regrets.

I think somehow I got the impression we weren’t allowed to do that. But I finally learned what a toxic relationship was!

Hmmmm … I typically don’t do such challenges, only because I lack the time, but I might just have to consider this one. 😉 🤔 🤔

It’s kind of hit and miss what stuff folks like. It’s fun — sometimes! LOL

I think I must have missed one somewhere along the line ?! The days seem to just merge.Retirement is sooooo busy. Honestly though, I have lost track. TRH is away visiting his parents in Brisbane. His dad is not well and may be facing open heart surgery, so he (TRH) is uber stressed. He has finally started painting Marc’s old bedroom so everything that was in there is all over the family room and other bedroom. I have to sort it out, pack it in boxes to take up to Darwin when we leave for our roadtrip in a couple of weeks. The furniture that was in there has been dismantled for repurposing as only himself can do oh so well. So – it IS a busy time! Heck, I have to stop making excuses and just get back on track 🙂
