Hey all! Feeling a bit less harried now that Christmas is past. Been looking back through my journal and reflecting on truths I’ve learned this year. Been thinking about the little (and sometimes bigger) disappointments that have peppered my life day in, day out, disappointments that may seem relatively trivial, but can get in the way of my moving forward. I’ve learned you have to deal with them or else they can pile up into a mound of sadness that keeps you from growing…
Hi Calen,
Thanks for your comments.
Yesterday had a look at the sandbox challenge on vulnerability and thought it may be useful to do the excercises. ❤️👍.

No Calen. I am from England, born in England of Irish parents. First visited gambia in 2012 & fell in love with the place.

Sounds like a GREAT combination. When I had my DNA done on Ancestry I was so praying it would come back that I was Irish… Nope. British, Swedish, and German, for the most part. BUT, I have an Irish heart and soul! I fight hard and I love just as hard! LOL (I suppose I shouldn’t really put that out there, should I. 🙂 )

What a wonderful comment. Sometimes the Irish have been referred to in the past as fighters in a derogatory way. Certainly my parents had to struggle (fight) to survive & also had hearts of gold. I like to think they have passed those qualities on to me ❤️.

Gosh, those qualities come in handy if you want to survive anymore!

Gossamer is thin, like tissue, so thin you can see right through it, but it is strong, strong like rope. It can impair your sight and tie you down. But it tears.
Nice to hear from you.
What is life if it is too perfect Cheryl?

West Africa! Wow! I’d never thought to ask where you were from. I have some friend who just came back from a ten-day trip to Africa. Not quite sure where, exactly, they were, but they fell in love with it. Glad to hear your Christmas was good! ❤

You’re so right, my friend. There’s an end to every beginning, and a new beginning after every end… There’s a Charles Dickens quote I love: “Life is made of so many partings welded together.” 😉

Grief as gossamer wings – such an appropriate image. Can’t get hold of it and can’t get it to go away. Blessings in the New Year!
