Nearly three years ago, August 12, 2015, a group of us set out to do some digging and writing from our hearts using Robert Allen’s guided writing book, The Playful Way To Knowing Yourself. We wrote for 55 weeks, after which we tried tackling a couple other books, but nothing felt as as good and raw as Allen’s. For some of us it was kind of life-changing.
So the other day Linda from over at Spiritual Dragonfly and I were talking about how our lives have changed in the ensuing years, and whether our perspectives of those questions might have changed as well. Since both of us have been struggling to get back onto our blogs, we decided to “revisit” the Sandbox Writing Challenges from Allen’s book here at the first of the year to see how, if at all, our view of our lives and the world around us has changed. Hopefully it will re-spark some sense of creativity within us as well!
Linda has decided NOT to go back and reread what she has already written. For me, I think I will first write, then go back and compare. Anyone who is out there is welcome to join us. The way it works is, I will post the challenges on Tuesdays and there will be a week to write and play around with it. When we have finished, we will post a comment with a link to our response on our blog. Please feel free to explore the Sandbox Writing Challenge link in the menu above to see how things worked and what folks wrote over the next year. Quite of few of the responses were pretty amazing.
It would be fun to see some new faces!
