just hanging around
my inner child finally said “so long”
there wasn’t a place for her
in your overcrowded world
and she could no longer keep
hanging around on the edges
her fingers were getting tired
she was loosing her grip
she knew the fall would hurt
but only the sudden stop
then she could pick herself up
put her head on straight
and maybe get back to normal
(whatever that was)
so she let go
she is braver than i

Oh, this hurts. As someone who’s always struggled with how, and when, and why to “grow up,” this hurts.

It’s a hard thing when we find our inner child and she starts to play with the neighbors, and then we have to call her in for the night — or indefinitely…

Well, she’s kind of a pain in the keister. I think a good long nap would do her and me both good! 😀

Calen, that sent a shock through me. You’ve got too much tough stuff going on, but when it’s over I expect that inner child will climb right back in, a liittle more world-weary, but intact.

She’s been outside playing for a long stretch. Maybe she just needs a long nap… 🙂

Has anyone ever told you what a master you are at stating the obvious, teach? LOL Every bone in my body feels like it’s been shaken, rattled, and rolled! (Oh, Lord… I’m expecting a music quote now… 😉 )

Thank you, sweetie. I feel like such a bad blogger ’cause I get so distracted I keep forgetting to check on the folks that leave likes on my blog. I gotta get better about that. I sure do appreciate your stopping by and taking a minute to read. You have motivated me this morning to put a sticky note on my keyboard reminding me to do that! ❤

Lurve? Luff? Lori, you really ought to see a speech therapist about that speech impediment. 😉
