Ha! Found a great question for What IF Wednesday. I was surprised it grabbed me because SHOPPING usually is NOT up my alley. When I go into a store I know what I want and where it is. And likely I’ll have a list! (I wonder if this means I’m getting REALLY bored at home! OML! HL’s in trouble if I ever get loose on my own! 😀 )
So here’s the question for the day:
If you were given one hour to spend an unlimited amount of money in any kind of store, what kind of store would it be?
Now I know one hour isn’t a LOT of time, but if you do your homework before you go it ought to be enough to get the essentials. And I thought sure I’d pick a bookstore. But nope. My first thought was bookcases. I need a couple more. It was just a quick jump from there to a furniture store. I’ve been dreaming of how I’d redecorate our little house for so long I know EXACTLY what furniture I’d pick. I can see it all now in my head. I’m ready to try the very simple Shaker-style type furniture. To clear out all the Victorian pieces and just chill! Love this room!
And where would YOU go shopping????

I’d probably spend an hour just wandering in Home Depot. Usually I go in to pick up something in particular, but just wandering all the aisles would be nice. Weird. i know.

I would look for a shop that sold forgiveness for my wrongs, answers to my unanswered questions and hope for a unblemished future. Either that or a top class burger bar!

Let’s see… How many calories and carbs could we consume in an hour at a burger bar? Think I’d go with the first one. 😀

I’ve thought about this…I would shop in a real estate office and purchase all the antique huge homes/mansions/castles I could find in an hour..in the US, England and France…does this count for shopping? 🙂

Dang, girl! That’s very smart. Would never have thought of that! 😀 Would you turn around and sell them then and save the best in each country for your family?

Harvey Normans – we need some furniture ( I want a comfy electric recliner or two) and then of course hit the electronics section. good surround sound music system, a new large screen TV, a few kitchen appliances (slow cooker, replacement coffee machine, food processor). a good camera. One hour may not be enough time!

My first thought was to get tools or art supplies, but there are more practical things needed right now. I’d go to a Home Depot or Lowes to buy a stove, microwave, sink, dishwasher, flooring, freezer and new fixtures.
Next, I’d probably get a bunch of cool sensory furniture and stuff for all the kids (big and little.) Wiggly chairs, platform swings, weighted blankets, a jungle gym with hanging bar, slide and swing, large trampoline, 8′ bean bag and yoga ball.
The third thought was to go to a really huge garden center for large clay pots, trees, bulbs, seeds and landscaping stuff.
Obviously, I could go shopping at any store and find something to buy unless it was clothing, makeup or hair supplies.

No, it’s sure not cheap. Just had a friend who had hers redone. It’s about 80 square feet and they sunk $14,000 into it!

Oh jeez. I’m sure it’s lovely but I’m definitely not spending anywhere near that!

We have on small on to put, one larger one to remodel, plus a kitchen remodel before Arn can retire a year from December. Getting kind of nervous about it all.

I think we’re on the same wavelength – furniture store, for sure. My basement flooded a couple of years ago and all the furniture down there was ruined, so I’d re-create it as a living space again. Now all we need is a genie to hook us up! 🙂

Yeah. Haven’t seen too many of them around lately. I’d like to redo our basement, too. Our TV room is long and skinny and I’ve been trying to decide how to break it up a little. I could do that with a lot of money!
