It’s here! The first day of the
A to Z Challenge
`
AND
`
How old were you between 1951 and 1971? How much TV did you watch? This year I’m giving you a chance to test your memory by posting about TV shows I LOVED to watch before I got married and had to surrender the remote control! I’ll give you some hints and you see if you can guess. But won’t reveal the answer to the post until the next day. 😀 So, without further delay let’s play!
______________________________________________________________
Good luck!!!
`Most kids love ’em! And even though this one wasn’t in a uniform, he really WAS the star of the show! With his trusty side-kick Rusty and his “adopted” family, he helped establish law and order in the country around Mesa Grande, Arizona from 1954 to 1959.
So paws now and take a moment to see if you can…
`
`
(Just a quick note. If the title of the show is preceded with the word “The”, it will NOT be included in the name.)

Well hey, Sheldon! So good of you to stop by and comment. I’ve really enjoyed reading your stuff for Matt. Lost track of you while Matt was away. Nice to see you again. 🙂

I’m behind in my readings, but my guess is [ 😀 ]. Unless it’s some weird yankee show that never made it to Oz 🙂

I guess you’ll find out tomorrow! 😀

I remember watching this show a lot if it rhymes with part of my face like my chin. I see someone guessed what I’m thinking but I won’t name what I think it is again.

[ 😉 ] Actually caught it this morning on Antenna TV. I love classic television, so I’ll definitely book mark this and come back!

You get a gold star! Shhh… See you on Monday! And thanks for playing! I’ve never heard of Antenna TV. Man! I gotta go looking for that. I haven’t seen an episode of this in years. Thanks so much for mentioning that, Amy!

I wasn’t born until 1969, and my television memories start with Watergate, but, for some reason, an idea popped into my head before I remembered about the A. To my knowledge, I’ve never seen this show, but I have brushed up against information on it a time or three and some of it much have stuck.
I Googled it, and multiple sources seem to confirm my guess, but we shall have to see if it holds any water on Monday. =)

Watergate, huh… I was at that know-it-all age when that happened and couldn’t be bothered to watch TV then. BOY and I learning the folly of my ways now! So glad you stopped by. Ran over to your place and left a comment on your A post, but had a difficult time finding my way there. Help? 🙂

I’m still learning my way around my website….sorry if it’s tricky. I’ve been meaning to set up a series of links on my WP blog, and pinning my theme post or the day’s post.
It would maybe help to know what kind of trouble you had finding your way there, if you’d be willing to share.

Oh sure! Your link at Shan Jeniah’s Lovely Chaos takes us to the Theme Reveal post you did. That’s great because it saves explaining over and over about the challenge. I thought I’d understood you to say you’d put a link to the actual post (like A) on the appropriate title, but there was no link there. So I kept going to the next post and the next but finally gave up. Then I clicked on your name above here and it took me to your first blog where I clicked on your icon for your new website in the right margin and that took me to your A post.
I think all you need to do is turn your titles on your reveal post into a link as you post them every day. Then they would be super easy to find. Does that help at all?

I’m going with Adventures of Lassie. I think I saw every episode, and not by reruns, lol.

Not a clue. I was born in 1971, but I have watched a lot of shows from before then (mostly in syndication if they weren’t on anymore by the time I was born like Leave It to Beaver, Perry Mason Matt Dillon…yes I know that eventually became Gunsmoke and believe it’s original name was Marshal Dillon). Guess I’ll have to tune in tomorrow to see the answer!
Glad I’m not the only one playing guessing games with this challenge. Mine is “Guess what my theme is?” 😛

I really thought more folks would get it. Makes me feel old! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you do come back for the answer! 😀

I was raised by my grandparents, so I did grow up watching a lot of old shows in syndication…I used to love watching The Lone Ranger, Leave It To Beaver, Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith, I even vaguely remember seeing a couple episodes of the Howdy Doody Show and Bozo the Clown (okay Bozo was probably more from my era anyway), along with Captain Kangaroo. I also watched the Little Rascals (originally called Our Gang) and a couple others.

Bozo! Hadn’t thought about him for awhile. Boy he was around in several different incarnations over the years! Well you just may see some old friends on here then! 😀

Aw, man, I’m starting out 0-for-1. I have no idea. They cancelled the show before Mom brought me into the world. I’m going with Away in a Wagon. Okay, that was pathetic. Can I change my answer?
How about Annie, Get Your Sheriff. What was Lassie’s Mom named … how about Aussie Saves the Day in the Old West.
I’m getting worse. I’ll accept that I’m 0-for-1 and hope B is Better for me.

LOL! Yeah, this one wasn’t rerun much, though it was extremely popular. I see a TV script in your future! 😉

I was born in 1969 so I don’t have a clue, I was going to say Andy Griffith, but that was in Mayberry.

Intriguing post and I’ll have to tune in for the answer as I have no idea! Wondering if it’ll be an ‘of course!’ moment but I was only two by 1971 and we didn’t even have our own telly until later mid-seventies. I’m looking forward to reading these and discovering a probably new-to-me range of popular American television shows from that era 🙂

Erm, well, I’d hoped to do it last year but couldn’t and had been considering it for this year but nothing planned and so as yet it’s maybe. But I’m wondering if I start can I keep it going… so at this moment in time, it’s still maybe 🙂

Hey, Teri! Was it hard to find? Did I give enough clues? Just curious. 😀

No it wasn’t hard at all.

Oh good. The “A” was a little misleading because most folks probably never refer to it by the whole title. Or may never even have known. Are you trying the challenge? How are you doing? I haven’t seen but one post from you lately. I wonder if I lost some links from my manager again. I’ll have to check.

Nope, I have you, but you’re just in my Reader. That’s why I’ve been missing your posts. Changed it to weekly now. Glad I check! I’ll have to catch up with you!

It was my second guess, but I had to look it up to be sure. I won’t say what it is, so as not to spoil it.

I tried to leave a comment on your A post, but it’s asking me for a password for my email account. Any way around that?
LikeLike
Yes, there is a way around that. On the botton of the comment box, you have buttons you can login with (Disqus, Facebook, Twitter, Email). Next to that is “Or Sign Up With Disqus”. Click the box under that, and it’ll ask you for your name and email, and below that is a check box, “I’d rather post as a guest.” This will allow you to put just your name and you email address, and then your post, without asking you to use your automatic service to login with.
