Geez! I just this second realized I forgot to post my own Sandbox post for last week. I think I need a vacation! The summer is upon us and I expect things may get a little slow in the Sandbox. We’re coming up on our year anniversary on August 12th, and we’ve never blogged through the summer, so I’m curious to see if we’ll stick with it or actually go outside and play in the sandbox!
But we will persevere! Especially in light of the fact that this week’s prompt may make us FEEL like we can fit in that sandbox! You ready?
`

What makes you feel small?
`
I can feel the hair standing up on the back of my neck from this one already… There are, of course, a few ways you can interpret this. I’ll be interested to see what everyone comes up with!
As always, remember to include the link to this post on YOUR blog post. Or if your response isn’t overly long, feel free to leave it in the comment section below. And please feel free to interpret the prompt however you wish: memoirs, poems, pictures, etc.
If you would like to see the previous prompts, they’re listed in the menu at the top of the blog in The Sandbox Writing Challenge. But please feel free to just jump in wherever we are at the moment! After all, the prompts are really for YOU to get to know YOURSELF. (Posts from past prompts you wish to tackle will always be added to the current week’s challenge page.)
Now, pull yourself up to your full height and write a post that will make you stand tall!

What makes me feel small?
ROTFL! Well, let’s see. At barely – am actually just below 5′ now – my personal stature. I’m short people. Always have been. Never got beyond 5’1-1/2″ as an adult. Now, it’s even less.
However, I expect that we’re not really talking about the physically – or is that virtically? – challenged situation. More likely, we’re looking at that emotional realm.
How would I even define feeling small.
I think of all the things I’ve been faced with, physical maladies make me feel I have no control over the situation, thus, I feel inadequate at overcoming them. Yet, even when I have been crippled by panic, I push through it. There may be a great deal of whimpering, grousing, cursing, all aka: complaining. But I do manage to get to the other side. But in those moments of panic, I feel helpless. That would be what makes me feel small for lack of a better way to put it. Though I’m not sure small would be the right word.
