I was laughing all the way home from the grocery store last night thinking I have something cool to respond to the Sandbox Challenge with this week.

521811773It was about 8:30 last night. I was ambling along an aisle not paying much attention to anything, just listening to the music. All of a sudden I heard this singing coming from a cross aisle and this lady pushing a cart with her daughter in tow came dancing across in front of me, singing “We Need A Little Christmas” at the top of her lungs along with the piped in music.

I just sort of stopped and stared and grinned and thought, “Lordy, I wish I felt uninhibited enough to be like that!” After she passed I moved on down the aisle, but I couldn’t quit grinnin’. It just made my whole night. So I decided I’d track her down and tell her how much I enjoyed it.. 😀 Took me a minute to find her, and when I did I headed up the aisle behind her. I had to hurry to catch up with her. (Keep in mind I was dragging poor, embarrassed Brandon along with me!)

I saw her look out of the corner of her eye at me and then start to move a little faster. It never occurred to me what she might be thinking as this seemingly crazy woman was trying to run her down. It took me two more aisles to get close enough to finally get her attention. She gave me a very suspicious look! I had to assure her I was NOT a grocery stalker!

“I just wanted to tell you your singing and dancing down the aisle a few minutes ago made me smile so hard I had to come back and tell you how much I enjoyed it!”

smiley faceHer face relaxed and she grinned from ear to ear and announced I had just made HER day. LOL She said she just loved Christmas songs. We talked for a minute before I wished her a Merry Christmas and Bran (who is still not old enough to NOT be embarrassed by his mother’s weird bahavior) and I continued to the checkout stand, much to his relief. It was funny. Though I did find myself wondering if she thought I was just plain strange!. 😉

But at least I got my SMILE in for the day!

(Btw, that’s Barry McGuire front and center there!)
